Caring for Students - Student Counselling

School Counsellors are qualified teachers who have a degree in psychology and post-graduate qualifications in school counselling/psychology. They complement and enhance the work of teachers by strengthening schools’ student welfare by contributing to the social, emotional, and academic development of students. They provide counselling, interventions, psychological assessments and referrals to external agencies in collaboration with the school’s Learning and Support, and Welfare Teams, teachers, parents and caregivers.

School Counsellors are able to assist students and support parents and caregivers in addressing the social, emotional, and educational development of their children as well as make referrals for family support. Please contact the school if you have concerns for your child or need assistance. It is important to seek help early if you notice any learning issues or major changes in their behaviour.
